Did you know that anybody can learn to paint and draw… “And that means you!”
All you need to do is make it simple. Be determined to have some fun and start with some easy stuff.
Drawing isn’t difficult to do…
All you have to do is make some lines and marks on some paper and you have drawn something.
Likewise, painting isn’t so hard to do…
If you can pick up a paintbrush and splash some color about… “What is the problem?”
The truth is that there is only one thing stopping you becoming an artist… and that is YOU. The only difference between an old master painter, like Raphael or Leonardo Da’Vinci, is that they spent their whole life working in art.
All you need to do is make it simple. Be determined to have some fun and start with some easy stuff. All it takes for you to get started is a pen or pencil and a sheet of scrap paper.
Now, freely scribble some lines on it and see what the result is…
Most likely, you think that you have made a mess. Perhaps so, but the main thing is that you have made your mark. Once you have made your first mark the only thing you need to do is make another… and then another… and another.
Each and every drawing and painting that has been created uses the same basic construction process… start with a clean sheet and make marks. It is as easy as that.
You will shout… “It doesn’t look like anything”
“Wait!” It doesn‘t have to be representative to be Art. What it does need to be is interesting and show some flair and character. If the result of your first drawing shows your passion and excitement, you can be satisfied that it is a great start. If your first brush marks show talent and ability… what a wonderful beginning.
You can only become a great artist if you make a start… Draw your first line.
